After the Sweater No. 9 I had the heart to try something a bit more difficult. The Nele Sweater by Gregoria Fibers is knitted *purl – 3x knit through the backloop – purl*, that’s why it takes a bit longer to knit. The pattern was fun to follow and I can recommend it to advanced beginners (scills you should know: italian cast on and off, knitting raglan).
Since I’m a beginner and I don’t want to spent a fortune on yarns that may not end in a great sweater I use a bit cheaper yarns. The Nele pattern calls for 3 strands of silk mohain (which is quite expensive), but I ended up knitting with one strand of Drops Alpaca (colour 302) and Drops Kid-Silk (colour 42). I’m happy with my Nele sweater, but could have gone one size down. After washing the sleeves grow a bit, that’s something Alpaca seems to do… I keep that in mind for my next sweater.
