Suit up! .:. Vikisews Riana Blazer
Happy New Year everyone! Hope you had a gread New Years Eve and a good start to 2022!
It’s time to get back to work and that’s the perfect timing for my handmade suit! I talked about the trousers here and today I show you the matching 80s inspired oversized blazer. I finished this outfit almost 6 month ago, but I haven’t had a chance to take pictures. My personal favourite thing about this blazer is the width, because I can layer a chunky sweater underneath (which is not possible with my Jasika Blazer by Closet Core patterns).
About my blazer:
fabric: 100% cotton
sewing pattern: Riana Blazer by Vikises (available in English and Russian)
size: I chose the pattern after the measurements on the website, they run true to size.
fit: The blazer is loose fitted / oversized look.
alterations: I made a full bust adjustment, but haden’t realized that the front dart is peeking out under the lapels until it was to late to change that. But it doesn’t bother me much. I also made a narrow shoulder adjustment (around 1cm), but this is a typical alteration for me with all sewing pattern companies, not specific for Vikisews.
recommendation: I like the blazer pattern, but it’s not one of those classic blazer patterns I’d sew again and again. But I have my eyes on two other Vikisews blazer patterns I’d like to make: the Marisa and the Eteri blazer.
I wish you a great rest of the week.
